Yancey Trevor Beauford

Reverend Yancey Trevor Beauford aka Rev. Trev is a proud advocate and spokesman that aims to ensure personal and communal transformation, by utilizing experience and religion to help guide principles that highlight the importance of reaching and influencing various audiences. He has worked to enhance relationships through pertinent dialogue that often gathers the masses with a focus on abiding by his mantra “make people better, make places better.” 

As a native of Florence County, Rev. Trev attended its public schools, going on to pursue his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Winthrop University located in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He continued his passion to fulfill a higher calling which resulted in him acquiring a Master’s degree in Divinity from the Howard University School of Divinity. Rev. Trev currently serves as the Pastor for Union Baptist Church in Hartford, Connecticut. Prior to his call to Union Baptist, he served on the pastoral staff at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC following the leadership of Dr. Clifford A. Jones Sr. As a former schoolteacher, educational consultant, activist, and counselor, Rev. Trev believes “The Gospel of Jesus Christ motivates us to not only be spiritually empowered but civically minded. We are called and commissioned to preach the liberation of Jesus Christ for the mind, body, and spirit. There can be no gospel, without social justice; there can be no effective social justice, without the Gospel.”

Rev. Trev fulfills his passion by mentoring and serving as chairperson for the Alpha Phi Alpha Beautillion Program. He also continues to serve children, youth, college students, young adults, and parents with spiritual, educational, and recreational ministries through group convenings that influence network and creativity. As a result of Rev. Trev’s community activism, he became a Board of Director member for many organizations, such as Crisis Assistance Ministries, Freedom School Partners, Leadership Charlotte, and Communities in Schools. He also remains as an active mentor and volunteer in several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools serving as the Friendship Liaison.

Through Rev. Trev’s community interactions, he has enjoyed advising mentees, as well as reconnecting disengaged populations through public speaking engagements and panel discussions. He continues to employ this acumen as a way to influence, strategize, and execute human interaction. Rev. Trev aspires to reach and teach audiences of all ages in efforts to influence communal and personal transformation.
